You’ll be surprised by some of Jim’s results. So much of what we assume about how to be successful and the people we believe to be successful is a fantasy. Often the reality can be counterintuitive.

How to Create a Strong Value Proposition for Online Sales

How to Create a Strong Value Proposition for Online Sales

In this video I’m going to show you how to create a strong value proposition so that your brand becomes irresistible online. In my last video called “How to Convert More Sales Online,” I talked about how having a strong value proposition for your brand will increase your conversions online. Today, let’s go deeper on exactly how to create that strong value proposition that makes your business stand out online.

What is a Value Proposition?

It is what separates your business from your competitors. It’s also called a unique selling position, or USP because it’s supposed to carve out a unique position for your brand within your niche. A value proposition is a promise of value to be delivered by you to your ideal client or customer. It’s the main reason a prospect should buy from you and not from your competition. It’s also a cost vs. benefit equation mental process that your prospects go through while evaluating your brand. They subtract what they are paying for your product or service from the perceived benefit. If they feel that the benefits they will be getting outweigh the costs, they will become highly motivated to buy from you.

Your value proposition isn’t meant to appeal to everyone. In fact, it’s meant to weed out prospects who don’t resonate with your brand and attract those that do. A value proposition is also what your business stands for. When you have a unique selling proposition that stand for something very specific, it becomes what you’re known for in your niche. That’s why it cannot be generic.

Why Must Your Business Have a Strong Value Proposition?

Why is it so important? Every brand in your niche is trying to get the attention of your ideal clients and customers so there’s a lot of noise out there. Think of your value proposition as a tool to cut through the crowd, decrease that noise, and have the right people pay attention to you and your business. That’s why a strong value proposition increases optin and sales conversion rates on your website while a weak value proposition significantly decreases those rates. Here are:

5 Steps to Create a Strong Value Proposition for Online Sales.

Step #1: Get Clear on Your Mission/What You Stand For.
A strong value proposition goes deeper than just a marketing plan. It needs to connect with your brand’s mission. Can you state what your brand stands for in just one sentence? It’s okay if it takes some time to work this out. A brainstorming session works very well for this. First, make a list of all of your brand’s unique attributes. What do you do differently than your competitors?

Based on those attributes, write down as many versions of your brand message as you can. Use as many sentences as you want. Then assess which one resonates with you the most. Once you have clarity on your message, you can refine all the versions into 1 sentence that is clear, concise, and gets to the heart of your brand.

Step #2: Define Your Target Market Accurately.
Now that you can communicate your strong value proposition in one sentence, you need to define who would be the ideal customer for what you offer. Who would jump at the chance to buy your product or service? Who would you most want to work with? Be careful here with going too broad. You don’t need to appeal to everyone. In fact, the more narrow you can go on your ideal client or customer, the better.

If you try to appeal to a very broad and generic group of people, your brand will get lost in the crowd. Get specific instead. Research everything about your ideal client. Know their age, gender, demographics, income statistics, and family makeup. Based on this information you can create an ideal customer profile that goes deep on the exact buyer you’re trying to attract.

Step #3: Use Words that Connect Deeply to Your Buyer’s Problems.
Identify your customer’s main problem. What’s keeping them up at night? What are they searching online for? What are the keywords they’re using in their Google searches? You can research this information in 2 ways: 1) Look up negative reviews for products and services in your niche on Amazon or Yelp. Copy and paste the exact words people used to describe their thoughts and feelings. 2) Use the Google Keyword Planner to see what are the most popular searches being conducted in your niche.

Then, compile a list of all the phrases, thoughts and feelings expressed by consumers in your niche. This will give you a great place to start with mirroring their problems, feelings and desires back to them in your marketing.

Step #4: Show How Your Product/Service Solves Those Problems.
Once you know deeply understand your ideal customers’ pain points and the problems they want to solve, describe how your products and services will give them the results they really want. Explain how what you do and how you help them is different and better than every other brand in your niche. This means being able to clearly describe the value and benefits of your products and services and connecting that value to your buyer’s problems. Then you can differentiate yourself as the preferred provider of this value.

Step#5: Make it Visual.
Now that you have all of that information in place, make your strong value proposition visual throughout your marketing. Include it on your website, in your emails, in your social media. The most important place it needs to be first is on your website banner. For most brands, this may be your first point of contact with a prospect who visits your website.

Your value proposition needs to be clearly stated in the headline and subheadline of your website banner. It also needs to be directly related to your lead magnet. That’s the power of 3 – headline, subheadline, lead magnet – that creates a strong value proposition that makes the consumer take action to optin to your list, go through your sales funnel and then become a happily paying customer. Here are some

Examples of Great Value Propositions.

These are value propositions of top brands who are crushing it online. You can see how strong their value propositions are from their website banners.

Example #1: Drip. See your customers in full color. Thousands of marketers are graduating from typical email platforms, and making more money with intelligent marketing automation from Drip. Then, you can get a free trial. See how seamless that is.

Example #2: Leadpages. More Than a Landing Page Builder. Capture qualified leads and convert customers by easily building beautiful landing pages and opt-in campaigns that integrate across all your favorite digital marketing tools: from Facebook ads to e-commerce. So you see how a strong value proposition leads the right prospects to take action by opting in for your lead magnet and joining your list. What happens after that? What is the process for them to transition from being a prospect to a buyer?

I show you that in my free video training that shows you how to automate your selling process with a sales funnel using my S.A.V.I. Funnel System. We use this unique system to build high converting sales funnels for our clients every day. It comes with a Fast Action Guide and a free issue of our business magazine, Savibiz. How to Convert More Sales Online

How to Convert More Sales Online

One of the scary things about having an online business is that you can put a lot of time, effort and money into your marketing and still fail. You may even be getting a lot of traffic, building a large social media following, or even growing a large list and still not getting the results you want! Why is that? So many small business owners are so busy taking massive action that they forget what matters most – and that’s conversions. So here’s my first question for you. Do you know your website’s conversion rate? How many of your website visitors are joining your list and how many of those are becoming paying clients and customers? First, you should know those numbers inside and out. Second, once you start tracking those numbers, you’ll see if you’re hitting your monthly income goals. If you’re falling short, then you need to increase your conversion rate.

Here are 5 Steps to Converting More Sales Online:

Step #1: Create an Irresistible Core Offer Using Empathy.

An irresistible offer is the key to increasing your conversion rate. So if you’re not selling enough of your current products or services, you need to first look at how you’re presenting your offers. Ask yourself, does your offer compel prospects to want to buy now? Or if you’re a service provider, does your offer make a prospect want to work with you? If you want to sell more, you need to show more empathy for your prospects.

First, you need to understand your market better than anyone else, and then be able to engage with them on an emotional level (i.e. empathy) to sell them a solution to the problems they’re facing. Market research has shown that people buy based on emotion and justify their buying decision with logic. So you want to paint vivid, emotional pictures through your marketing. You want to position your offers with messaging that directly speaks to your ideal client or customer. The more closely you can craft your message to your prospects’ frustrations, the higher your online sales conversions will be.

Here’s a pro tip on how to find the thoughts, words, and emotions your prospects are thinking, feeling and using in regards to your topic. Look up reviews for products and services in your niche. Amazon and Yelp are great places to start. Focus on the negative ones and make a list of all the words and phrases people use to describe their feelings. This is how you’ll be able to identify and address their specific frustrations, objections, and concerns. You can then use these ideas throughout your marketing copy to overcome objections. Prospects will feel like you’re reading their minds and empathizing with exactly how they feel.

Go ahead and place this messaging in your paid ads, YouTube videos, social media posts, your website landing page, optin pages, and sales pages. You should also sprinkle your messaging into emails you send to your list and in your webinars, podcasts, and blog articles.

Step 2: Nail Your Value Proposition and Make it Obvious.

A value proposition is the value you deliver to your clients and customers and the primary reason they should buy from you. It’s not your motto, tagline, or catchphrase. Like your offers, it uses the language of your ideal customer to explain how your products and services solve their problem and why they should buy from you and not from the competition. Let’s take the Savibiz brand for example. Our ideal clients are those who want to build lifestyle businesses so they can spend time more time enjoying life with the people they love. They’re the opposite of workaholics. So, our value proposition is helping them “make more sales with less work” by automating their sales process online.

How do we do that different and better than our competition? We’re a boutique sales funnel agency specializing in done-for-you and personal consulting services for a handful of VIP clients. See that’s a simple and powerful value proposition that prospective clients can easily understand and identify with. You have to present your value proposition as the first thing the visitors see on your home page. So what’s your value proposition? Remember, the best ones are crystal clear: what is it your product/service, who is it for? And how is it useful to them? If those questions are answered, you’re on the right track. Always strive for clarity first and make sure your value proposition is obvious throughout your brand’s online presence.

Step 3: Reduce Friction but Keep Urgency in the Booking and Checkout Process.

According to Business Insider, approximately $4 trillion worth of online merchandise was abandoned in incomplete shopping carts last year alone, of which 63% was potentially recoverable. These kinds of statistics reveal how crucial it is to make your booking and checkout process fast and easy for your clients and customers. You do that by #1) Asking only for necessary information to complete a consult, booking, or sales. Eliminate all unnecessary steps that can cause buyer fatigue. Skip any detailed forms. If you’re having prospects apply for a free consult or strategy session, keep the application brief and set the question cells to optional instead of required for questions that can have a lengthy response. Don’t have your prospects jump through too many hoops to book a service or buy a product from your website. #2) Test your sales flow to make sure a customer can complete a booking or purchase in less than 5 minutes. #3) Do add a countdown timer of 15 minutes or less on special offers so you can get some fast purchases.

Step 4: Make sure your website is optimized for mobile.

You’d be shocked at how many online businesses have websites that look terrible and hardly even work on mobile. This is bad news considering that studies show a faster than expected shift of web usage from desktop to mobile in just the last year. That means more people are accessing your website from their cell phones than from a computer. So, If you don’t want to leave sales on the table, it’s vital that your site is optimized for mobile. Make it as easy as possible for mobile visitors to buy your products or book consults and services with you from their cell phones. Your site must be user friendly and easy to navigate on a cell phone. In this digital world, there’s just no way around that.

Step 5: Use a Simple Sales Funnel to Convert Prospects into Buyers.

Too many entrepreneurs suffer from weak sales because they don’t have a system in place to nurture prospects into paying clients and customers. Is this you? Are you working hard to bring traffic to your website, but then the prospects who come don’t buy? You don’t have to nurture each prospect individually until they are actually ready to become a real client. A simple sales funnel automates that process for you so that prospects who aren’t a good fit for your brand disqualify themselves while your ideal clients and customers take a journey with you and your brand. Your sales funnel develops the relationship between you and them, step-by-step through nurturing, offering tremendous value, building your trust factor, and then making the sale an effortless next step in your relationship.

If you want to build a high converting sales funnel for your business, then get my free video training where I show you how to build a simple sales funnel the easy way by using the SAVI Funnel System. How to Do Visualization for Business Success

How to Do Visualization for Business Success

In this video, I’m going to show you why visualization is an important part of achieving your business goals, why it’s so effective, and how to do it the right way! There’s a lot of discussion out there about the Law of Attraction and how you can visualize in order to manifest the business and life you want.

What is Visualization?

It’s a powerful tool that we can use in order to line up with the energy of that which we’ve already created. What does that mean? When we have a goal we want to achieve, we have already created the desire and decided that we want the manifestation of it. So how do we bring that about in the physical world? Visualization is one tool we can use to receive the energy of our desires in the physical.

Why does Visualization work?

According to research using brain imagery, it works because neurons in our brains, those electrically excitable cells that transmit information, interpret imagery as equivalent to a real-life action. When we visualize an act, the brain generates an impulse that tells our neurons to “perform” the movement. This creates a new neural pathway — clusters of cells in our brain that work together to create memories or learned behaviors — that primes our body to act in a way consistent to what we imagined. All of this occurs without actually performing the physical activity, yet it achieves a similar result.

What are the benefits of Visualization?

1.) It activates your creative subconscious which then starts generating creative ideas to achieve your goal.

2.) It programs your brain to identify the resources you will need to achieve your dreams.

3.) It activates the law of attraction which then draws the people, resources, and circumstances into your physical experience that you will need to achieve your goals.

4.) It inspires you to take the necessary actions to achieve your dreams and keep you motivated to stay on your path.

5) Visualization helps you weed out conflicting thoughts that contradict what you really want. It literally shows you where you’re harboring conflicting frequencies. So how do you visualize the right way for the best results?

Here are 4 Steps to Effective Visualization For Business Success.

Step #1. Establish your Goal. Decide on something you want to have, enjoy, be, work toward or create in your business.

Pro Tip: If you start small – for example, I want to grow my email list by 500 prospects this month or I want to enroll 2 new private clients this month – you can create quick victories and experience how powerful “rehearsing” success can be in actually attaining it. This is especially effective in eliminating procrastination. Small victories inspire the motivation to create bigger ones.

Step #2. Create a Detailed, Mental Portrait of That Goal Already Attained.

Create a mental “scene” of your desired outcome and visualize it as if it’s happening right now. What do you see in your imagination? What do you hear? What’s moving in that picture? What is still? What can you smell or touch or taste? Who’s in it? What do your two private clients look like? What are there names? How do you feel when you’re working with them? Include as many sensual details as you can. Ask yourself — What are you smelling, hearing, feeling? Immerse yourself completely in that imagery and use your 5 senses.

Step #3. Focus and Practice Daily. Repetition is the key to the manifesting power of your visualization. Try this – put an alarm on your phone and place yourself in that “scene” several times a day, if possible. If you can’t do that, then make sure to add it to your morning and night routines so that it’s the first thing you focus on in the morning and the last you think about as you fall asleep. By doing this, you’ll integrate your ideal outcome into who you are. Your brain will see it as the natural next step in your journey. All you need to do is step into it, action-by-action. Effective visualization is not wishful thinking, nor is it brief moments of ‘seeing’ success. It’s a spiritual practice that gets deeper and more powerful each day. You can make visualization more tangible by creating a vision board. You can make a physical one by attaching images related to your goals into a poster board. Or you can create a digital vision board with a program called Mind Movies. This is a powerful tool that I’ve used to manifest all of my goals for the past 5 years. If you want to learn more about that and get some free Mind Movies to try, you can click on the Mind Movies link below this video.

#4. Add Positive Energy and Action Steps. As you focus on your goal, now add in positive, encouraging vibes. Make strong positive statements to yourself: that you have clarity. You know what you want. You know that you are on your way to getting it. Celebrate. Feel the joy. Smile. When you add these “affirmations” in the spirit of celebration, you naturally dissolve inner resistance, self-doubt and negative habits of thought. You suspend disbelief and reinforce experiencing the feeling that what you desire is real, good, possible and enjoyable. Next, write down 3 actions you can take right now to get you closer to your goal. Then review each action and decide if it’s a useful next step in achieving your goal.

By focusing on actionable tasks rather than the ultimate destination, you are accomplishing several things. You eliminate self-defeating thoughts because the goal is closer. You reinforce positive behavior because you can act on it immediately. You defeat procrastination because you get right into action. Maintaining a clear, positive mental vision of the actions you plan dissolve self-doubting thoughts and keep you on track. So there are your 4 powerful steps to creating your ideal business. Now, I’m excited to hear from you. Here’s the Question of the Day: Have you practiced visualization? And what results have you gotten so far? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
